"That's Why I Sing" Interview with Student, Singer, and Songwriter: Chloe Pannell

I’m sure most of us enjoy listening to Christian contemporary songs. Worship through singing is a great way to have a conversation with Jesus, even if you can't think of words to say. Singing is also a great way to worship when you can think of your own words, something that Chole Pannell has proven with her incredible, original Christian-contemporary songs ‘Give Me Love’ and ‘That’s Why I Sing’. Both songs have distinct rhythms and catchy lyrics supported by a gifted voice.

Chole Pannell is a Scholar's Guild student and, quite obviously, an amazing artist. Her masterpieces were created in the course of roughly one year. The background development of her skills? She’s been playing the guitar for a little over a year and singing for two. In addition, she is also part of a praise and worship band at her church, gaining more experience and spreading more joy. During the interview, Chloe expressed how she strives to continue her music career and hopes to release a Christmas album, something to definitely add to your Christmas lists! Her ambition doesn't stop there, as she also wants to learn how to play the banjo and violin.

Clearly, her faith is a massive part of her singing inspiration. She came to her faith through singing when she got sick and was hospitalized. In that frightening and crazy environment, she began to learn how to trust God and have a relationship with him. It wasn’t until summer camp that year, though, when Chloe realized her passion for music.

"I went to a summer church camp and I saw Lauren Daigle and that’s kinda when I was like ‘Oh, I wanna sing and do worship!'’’

-Chole Pannell

Chole has recently released both of her songs on YouTube, as well as Spotify and you can bet we've included the links below. What really amazed me, though, was the story behind her song ‘That’s Why I Sing’. Chloe wrote this story for her Pop, who is fighting the tough battle of mouth cancer. Seriously, please listen to this song now. Both the lyrics and the singer are incredible. Going further into the lyrics, they are all about God’s goodness and love, and how he’s always there with us, no matter what! I think I speak for all the Scholar’s Guilder students when I say thank you, Chloe, for your stunning songs!

In loving memory of Ricky Hawk, “Pops”
