This year, there is a house church being held every week for the high schoolers at SGA. It is so much fun and a great way to hang out with friends but also get to know God better.
What is SGA house church? Grace Snellville’s high school ministry has a summer house church for all the high schoolers, but during the school year the high schoolers take over the leading. There are Grace students who lead Parkveiw, Brookwood, Artios, and other schools in a house church, but they haven't had one for SGA until this year. A few students--Lily Pullen, Olivia Crawford, Lucy Johston, and I-- decided that we wanted to start one. It is held every Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30. We hang out for the first half-hour, but then we get into God’s word and have some worship. This semester we are going through Romans, and we have had great lessons from both Olivia Crawford and Lily Pullen on the first chapters. As of right now, masks are required, and social distancing is encouraged, but these rules might change in 2021.
I asked a few people who have come what their favorite part about SGA house church was, and these are their answers:
Bella Young said, “My favorite thing about house church is how we can come together even during a global pandemic.”
Garrett Lowrance likes “hanging out at the end.”
Special House Church events: At the end of this month, on October 29th, we will have a Halloween party during house church. This will be more of a time to socialize and hangout, and we will not be having a lesson that night. Feel free to dress up, and we will have some activities and snacks for you as well. We are also hoping to have a Friendsgiving event and a Christmas party when the time comes, but we have not planned these events just yet.
