It’s easy to start the school year off strong in August, with everything in its place, but it can be challenging to keep it all organized until May! Ensuring schoolwork, deadlines, and assignments are in order is essential for every class. Here are a few tips on how to stay organized, so you can find what you need, quickly and easily.
Make Sure Everything Has a Folder – Organize each subject or class within their own folder and make sure that your notes and assignments go with their class. If you are someone who prefers bigger binders, make sure each class has its own tab! If you are a busy person during the school day and just shove your papers in your bag, find time to put them in the right place so you know where to find them at a moment’s notice. This same organization can help your Gmail Inbox too!
Create A Planner- Physical or digital, creating a planner is the best way to remember important dates for schoolwork. Putting all the school notifications in one place as soon as you know about them is a great way to stay organized and be aware of upcoming events or projects. Placing homework, test dates, meetings and daily work on a planner is helpful too so you know exactly what you need to do every day. Feel free to be creative and personalize your planner! Use different colors, drawings, images, or icons to make your planner easy and enjoyable for you to read.
Make A Study Schedule- Now with all that work in one place, it is time to put it into reasonable, doable portions for the days you can work. Give about an hour, more or less depending, for each subject and take note of how long you think a certain project may take. Some things may need more time than others, so adjust your schedule as needed.
Store All Your School Supplies in One Place- Keep all your supplies in an organized space. Depending on the amount, there are many possibilities, like a pencil pouch, storage bin, desktop caddy, designated spot in your backpack, organizers, the list goes on. Doing this helps you find what you need and lets you know if you need to restock anything. There are unlimited organizers in shops everywhere, and if you need inspiration, there are a million sites to help!
