The Super Bowl

One of the biggest events of the year has to be the Super Bowl, the one high-pressure game in which two teams compete for the championship title. I also know a lot of die-hard football fans who could vouch for the excitement and the adrenaline of this specific game alone. Despite my preference for baseball, I do find all sports intriguing to an extent, and I have to say that some Super Bowls I’ve watched in the past have had their ups and downs.

This past game to finish off the football season was a KO. The Philadelphia Eagles faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the final fourth of the game made it seem closer than it actually was in the previous three quarters. If you weren’t watching, let me tell you how.

The Eagles scored a touchdown in the first quarter, setting the tone for the knockout to come. They continued to score, gaining seventeen more points in the second quarter and leaving the Chiefs shut out. It wasn't until well into the third quarter that the losing team finally showed signs of getting their act together. They scored six points, while the opposing team still added a ruthless ten points onto their lead, showing no mercy. Though the Chiefs went on to end with twenty-two points total, their competitive switch turned on a quarter or two too late. The Eagles won with forty points on the board.

Not even Taylor Swift’s presence could bring the best out of Travis Kelce, who didn’t catch a single pass until the very end of the third quarter. People say that it was the worst game that they’d ever seen Patrick Mahomes play, as well.

The biggest pique in my interest throughout the entire game occurred whenever President Trump, the first sitting president to ever attend a Super Bowl, appeared on camera and was cheered. Long story short, there aren’t many football games that are as fast-paced and will put you on the edge of your seat, as fans say. This Super Bowl certainly wasn’t an exception. So, while it was nice to expand my sports horizons, I have no doubt that this game will have had more respect from everyday watchers.
