The Story

Every year since we moved to Jefferson, my little sisters have performed in Pointe of Grace Dance’s Christian take on The Nutcracker, called The Story. This opportunity has brought not just the dancers, but our entire family, several close friends… a few of whom attend SGA alongside us! 

This month, Molly Greene played the well-known part of Sugar Plum. Macy Greene is a Level 3 dancer who was part of several ballet routines, as well as a hip-hop routine that my mom, SGA cross country coach Maggie Greene, choreographed.

Sisters Charlee, Canler, and Colbie Crawford played The Angel Gabriel, Fritzy (Clara’s little sister), and a Level 3 hip-hopper/ballerina, respectively. Noel McLaughlin played the role of Mary, and Ila Thorne was a part of several dances, as well as the opening Rockette-resembling number. 

Even for those who are not typically a fan of the arts, this show carries a great message throughout, combining the classic Christmas ballet with the Nativity, backed by a fantastic soundtrack. Be sure to check it out next year!
