Start Something New in Summer!

Summer is almost here, and once school is over, there is so much time to do so many things! While swimming and relaxing are already at the top of the list, below are some more creative and fun ideas to fill up some time between the relaxing! 

1. Try A New Sport! You might have been wanting to try a new sport during the school year, but you were too busy, so now’s the time to do it! There are so many summer sports camps to choose from, so go try something new! Who knows? Maybe you’ll want to continue and do it year round.

2. Plan A Summer Party! Host a summer party by inviting some of your friends to come and watch a movie, play games, and hang out! You can organize a fun craft to do together, such as making friendship bracelets or decorating seashells, and maybe cool off from the summer sun with a water balloon fight.

3. Start A Summer Bible Study! Start a Bible study with some friends to get together and be in the Word! Even if you can just three weeks out of the month you can still end up meeting a total of six times. You can start by printing off some questions based on online sources and meet at a coffee shop or park.

4. Start A Book List! Create a goal to motivate you to read throughout the summer! If you love reading, this should be no problem, but mark down how many books you want to read, and try to reach that number while enjoying the book. If you want some competition to motivate you, ask a friend to join you in reaching the number of books read, and see who can read the chosen amount first! 

5. Make Summer Popsicles! Blend up a fruity mix with some strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, oranges, and watermelon to a smoothie consistency. Then pour it in a popsicle mold and let it freeze overnight to make a sweet and cold treat on a hot day! 

6. Volunteer for a VBS! Sign up to help a church for VBS! You can work with kids of all ages, assist with crafts, or help with rec, all of which are really helpful to the church and bring glory to God!
