Last month on September 24th, Beta Club hosted the annual prayer rally, See You At The Pole. See You At The Pole gives students, teachers, and parents a chance to come together in prayer for friends, families, teachers, school, and nation.
The national organization was started in 1990, but is stronger than ever 30 years later. The rallies are held once a year on the fourth Wednesday of September. Since Scholars Guild meets on Tuesdays, it is impossible to stay on schedule with the rest of the organization. Because of this, SGA’s See You At The Pole event is held on the fourth Tuesday of September.
The Scholars Guild Beta Club has put on this event for 4 years, but this rally was a bit different. This year there were extra precautions because of COVID-19. Masks, social distancing, and temperature checks were all present at the event. Kelley Kosinski, who was a volunteer at the event, says that she was there to “help pray for the school and our country.”
When I asked Rosemary Harper about See You At The Pole, she said that “it was nice to all get together and pray with the stress of the election.” She also says it was “very peaceful” and that she would definitely recommend attending.
The efforts made by Mrs. Payton and the rest of the Beta Club are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to more events like this one in the future!
