Everyone knows what the Astrological Zodiac Signs are: There are 12 of them, they are each represented with a symbol, and some people use them as a way to determine someone’s personality and compatibility. But what if I told you that there’s a less mystical way to determine someone’s personality and compatibility? It all lies in one simple question: “What’s your favorite soda?”
This question can act as another gateway to a person’s mind, with their appearance being the first gateway. Different people like different drinks. Some people like Coke brand drinks, some like Pepsi brand drinks, but some people prefer other, non-soda drinks, such as tea, coffee, juice, etc. However, some people just prefer to drink water, which is the drink of nature. Favorite drinks can also be linked to people’s personalities. For example, people who tend to drink water are usually healthy or in shape, and people who tend to drink coffee are go-getters and are usually energetic.
Usually, people who like the same drinks get along with each other, and sometimes, people who drink different things can get along too. However, debates can spark between people who drink different things. Examples of this include Coke vs Pepsi and Coffee vs Tea. Debates about what the best flavor or brand of a certain drink can spark between people who drink the same broad type of drink. Examples of this include flavors of Mountain Dew, types of Juice, and even brands of water.
Even with all of those vices and virtues that come with this question, there’s a reason why I believe that it’s a better option than the zodiac signs. The astrological signs may be more popular, but the problem with it is that some people say it’s not real, while others say it’s real. The drink question is something that everyone, no matter their age, gender, or skin color, can believe is real, because it is.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you like soda or not because you can still get along with others through other things, whether it’s a hobby, a show, a game, etc. Drinks can be one of the many small ways to make friends with other people. In that case, the next time you meet someone, instead of asking about their Zodiac sign, ask them this simple question: “What’s your favorite soda?”
