A large gate looms over you as you stare into the abyss of darkness on the other side, not knowing what may be your fate. You curl your fingers around the icy, black bars.
“What do you think it's really protecting us from?” says Norman, peering over at Emma with the gate in her grasp and the same question in mind. As Emma, Ray, and Norman stand transfixed at the barrier of the gate, they were oblivious that whatever may be on the other side would keep them fighting for their lives.
Imagine happily frolicking in the fields as the green grass gently tickles your feet and the sun shines brightly against your skin. The sound of laughter fills the air with squeals and hollers of joy as the children madly dash past you. The Gracefield orphanage was a lively and secure home, and all the children felt loved and well cared for not only by one another but also by Isabella, the mother and caretaker of the home. Isabella had silky, black hair that was neatly pulled back and a warm smile that met her eyes. The children looked at her as if she was their genuine mother with a great bond of both trust and fondness. Although, behind Isabella’s smile was something sinister and sickening.

Isabella’s eyes gleamed in delight as they made their way down to the end of the trail to where the tall gate stood.
As Emma and the others started cleaning, burying their sadness behind small smiles, Emma noticed something. The wood dug into the palms of her hands as she grasped the broom, looking at Connie’s forgotten bunny lying on the table. In shock, she instantly snatched the toy, praying that Connie had not left just yet. Ray assured her that they could make it in time.
Emma and Norman swiftly dashed through the darkness with the toy in hand and hearts pounding within their chest. Without hesitation, they passed the large, open gate in search of Connie, yet nothing was to be found but a small truck. “I’ve never seen a vehicle before,” Emma whispered to Norman who was also observing the truck. Water quietly trickled down the pipes and the air was cool and crisp. An eerie feeling sank into the bottom of their stomachs making them feel uneasy as they quietly wandered the abandoned tunnel past the gate. Taking a step forward, Emma pulled back the tarp concealing their view of the back of the truck in the hope Connie would find her toy there, but what they found instead would leave them restless.
Emma stood transfixed with her eyes wide and her mouth dry. Her body became paralyzed in fear, leaving her with nothing to do but to motion for Norman quietly. As Norman approached he couldn’t believe his eyes as he was left breathless as he stared upon...
