1. How do I deal with a difficult teacher?

  • Having a difficult teacher can be rough. Maybe they have a teaching style that you don’t understand well, or perhaps they have borderline impossible tests; it happens. Learning techniques can be different for everyone, and some teachers may teach in a way that you don’t understand well. Honestly, the best way to deal with this is trying to acclimate to the situation. Use your resources! If you learn better from a more light-hearted talk than a lecture, find a Youtube video to understand the subject better. If you learn best with imagery and reading, use your textbook and the internet to understand more easily. Here’s the big one: hard tests. The best way to study for a particular teacher’s tests is to look at previous chapter tests that you’ve completed and focus your studies on the types of questions and ways they show up on the test. This way, you’ll be better prepared for these specific tests. Last but not least, remember to give yourself and your teacher some grace. Everyone learns in different ways, and everyone has different strong suits. Having a hard time with something doesn’t make you stupid; it makes you human.

2. How do I deal with a new baby sibling? Will my parents still love me?

  • Of course, your parents will still love you! Just because someone else that they love comes into their lives doesn’t mean they’re going to love you any less. Think of it this way; you meet new friends, but that doesn’t make your relationship with other friends any less important. Having a baby sibling in the house is very similar to this, as you may feel like your parents don’t love you, but they will never stop loving you. They simply just have more love to give around. A baby is a lot of work, and they will probably be spending a lot of time with it, but this does not mean that they don’t love you anymore. As for having a baby sibling, try to enjoy it! It may be crazy or even a little overwhelming at first, but they’re your sibling, and they will be growing up with you. See this as your opportunity to be the cool older sibling!
