If you're bored stuck at home because of the whole quarantine ordeal, you're not the only one. We all are praying for the COVID-19 virus to end for the world's health, but let's also be real, quarantine life is slowly draining us. I can't tell you the amount of time I've spent lying on the floor of my living room staring at the ceiling aimlessly. Stores, schools, and events have all been closed; all you SGA students know which event I'm talking about specifically. March 20, 2020, our Moonlight Masquerade Spring Formal was unfortunately canceled due to the virus raging around the world. It might not have been the most pressing of issues, but we were still disappointed.
Even though we were all stuck inside our houses, many of us entertained ourselves in various ways that night. SLC member Marren Powelson said, "I just sat back and chilled. I didn't do anything super exciting, although it was nice to relax."
Nate Sommers replied with, "I just hung out with my family. We played the switch together then watched The Mandalorian."
Ezra Klinect, a senior, had his priorities, "I napped, then I did calculus homework," he said.
Perhaps the best and funniest response I received was from Michael Powell. He said, "We watched old TV shows and ate depression ice cream."
Personally, I spent the evening having a gymnastics competition against my younger sister (I won proudly) and watched the new Little Women movie with my sisters.
Maybe you spent the night with family, or playing games, or even doing that depressing Friday night homework. Whatever you did, it wasn't a waste of time. This virus won't last forever, and we'll be out of our houses eventually. Until then, everything is for His glory!!
