Somewhere between then and now

You stopped having to remind yourself to breathe

Somewhere between then and now

You stopped thinking about them

Somewhere between then and now

The time flew by

And you realize,

You made it through the worst of it

You realize you made it out alive

Some seasons

You need to use all your energy

To remind yourself to breathe

And get out of bed

But once you get past the season of survival

You can put your energy into different things

You can learn to make yourself happy

You can learn how to truly enjoy life.
