To start the exciting SGA school year we enjoyed a night of community, pizza, and worship! Our fantastic student life committee put together this fun night based on this year's verse: John 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me, you can do nothing.”
To go with this verse Mrs. Sara Lunsford and Mr. Ty Rumble led us in a song together. As we continued being led in worship by the two, the middle schoolers enjoyed pizza and outdoor activities! The middle and high school also heard an excellent teaching from FCA leader Kenny Brooks. He gave these students lots of encouragement for this school year and played some fun games with the high school students.
A part of this year's Embark mission was collecting donations to help those at the Refuge Center. This center dedicates itself to helping women and men through pregnancies with high emotions. They help make educated decisions with many doctors and client advocates to help parents-to-be with their situations. They help with financial and emotional worries. Thank you to all who donated!
For the students who came to this exciting event, you could purchase t-shirts with this school year's verse on them when you signed up. These can also be worn on spirit wear days along with other spirit wear shirts!
