For the last three years, I've been playing sports - 2 years of volleyball at SGA, and now I'm playing tennis! In the beginning, it's always a struggle to figure out my schedule to get good grades, especially with sports, clubs, and church activities. It's still a struggle for me, but I think returning to school is a struggle for anyone. Here are tips that have helped me!

  • Stay ahead! Even if you feel like you don't need help, in the beginning, it's very easy to forget how much actually has to get done, and if you aren't kept accountable, it could be very stressful on Monday night having to get it done. Trust me, it's never fun to keep procrastinating! Get up early and get your school done, then go to practice!

  • Create a to-do list! Even if you have all of your to-do lists on your computer from your teachers, sometimes it helps having it all in one place, so make one big to-do list for the week and then smaller ones for that day, so that you can visualize how you are going to get it all done! I promise it's possible to get it all done! It just takes some hard work.

  • Make it fun! I like to make it fun by adding colors to my homework or just making it look nice, but there are many ways to make homework fun! Just find the way that works best for you!

  • Take Breaks! Taking breaks can help improve your focus! Make sure to take only 10-20 minute breaks, because if you take any longer, you just want to stay on the break. But they actually really help, so please remember to schedule breaks!

  • Have motivation! You need motivation, especially for school, clubs, and sports! There is so much motivation on Pinterest or YouTube; look at those if you need motivation. Or just think, you can have fun once you're done with school!

It can be hard, so don't be too hard on yourself these first few weeks, just try your best! You got this, and I hope these tips helped. Don't forget to have fun and take breaks; it actually helps!
