8 Best Super Bowl Commercials of 2019

Updated: Jul 4, 2022

Every year, thousands of people watch the Super Bowl...only for the commercials.  Last year, we saw gems such as Tide’s “Tide Ad” and the Doritos/Mountain Dew combo commercial featuring Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman.  This year, the commercials, in my opinion, were exactly the same as the game and the halftime show...boring. Despite that, I have compiled a list of the best 8 Super Bowl Commercials from 2019.

1. NFL

We all remember last year’s NFL commercial with Eli Manning and Odell Beckham reenacting a scene from Dirty Dancing.  This year, the NFL came out with a hilarious commercial showing many legendary NFL players playing an impromptu game of football at a banquet celebrating the NFL’s 100th year.  This commercial also featured a cameo from Fortnite streamer Ninja.

2. Get Your Goat Rentals/Head and Shoulders

A tiny Atlanta Goat Rental company partnered up with Head and Shoulders for this amazing commercial.  Get Your Goat Rentals is a goat rental service in Decatur. Their commercial was paid for by Head and Shoulders so that company owner Michael could stay in business and still get his company out there.  I emailed him and he said that Head and Shoulders paid every penny for the commercial and that they received over 150 calls and 8k+ hits on their website.

3. Amazon

Amazon let out this amazing commercial, again featuring their Siri-like AI, Alexa.  This year’s commercial showed all the failures that Alexa has had when put in different devices.  In this commercial, Alexa was put in everything from microwaves to the collar of a dog, supposedly owned by Harrison Ford, and kept ordering dog food.

4. Pepsi

As we all know, Coke is far better than Pepsi, but Pepsi’s Super Bowl LIII commercial was hilarious.  It featured “The Office” star Steve Carell asking a waiter at a diner why he said Pepsi is just “ok.” It ends with Steve Carell trying to say okay like Lil’ Jon and Cardi B said it in the commercial.

5. Bud Light

For over a year, Bud Light has been using the “Dilly Dilly” slogan to promote their drink. This year, Bud took a different approach. They used the same characters that they’ve been using for the last year, but now they are advertising that Bud Light is brewed without corn syrup.  It sounds stupid, but it was pretty funny.

6. Mercedes-Benz

Just to be clear, car commercials are typically the worst.  However, this one was great. It shows a man walking around saying things like “Make the putt,” “Make it rain,” and “Find the cat” and all of those things happened.  It ends with the man getting in his new Mercedes A-class and saying, “Hey Mercedes, change the color, turn down the temperature, and play my music.” This commercial from Mercedes-Benz really showcased the A-class’s voice technology.

7. Walmart

This Walmart commercial showed multiple “famous cars,” including the Batmobile, the car from Scooby-Doo, and the Ghostbuster car, pulling into Walmart to pick up groceries with Walmart’s pick up service.

8. Kia

This year’s Kia commercial featured a little boy talking about West Point, Georgia, the town where the new Kia SUV is assembled.  He said that his town is unknown, and they don’t hope to be known for who they are, but to be known for what they do.

Oh, yeah, almost forgot.  The Patriots won the Super Bowl…again.  They took down the LA Rams in the world’s most boring football game ever.  Tom Brady helped the Patriots to another Super Bowl victory with a 13-3 win.  Brady now has six Super Bowl rings and has won the most Super Bowls of any NFL player (sadly, in my opinion) and is the oldest player to ever win a Super Bowl.
