You Know You’re A Christmasholic When…

  1. It’s 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t stop you from listening to Christmas music.

  2. You willingly and happily watch every Hallmark movie, regardless of the same plot and same ending, just presented a different way.

  3. Who says it’s too extra to show up to church in an extreme sweater/sweater dress on Sunday morning? (Guilty as charged)

  4. Ladies- Jingle bell earrings? How about Naughty or Nice ones? No? Just me? Okay.

  5. It’s not even Thanksgiving, and yet your decorations are already adorning every corner of your house.

  6. You can quote line by line your favorite Christmas movies-unashamedly.

  7. You think it’s perfectly acceptable when Christmas decorations are already for sale in July.

  8. You relate to Buddy the Elf on a spiritual level.

  9. All your recent playlist searches on Spotify involve the words “Christmas” or “Holiday”.

  10. You never forget the dog or cat needs Christmas gear too!

  11. When someone asks you to play a certain Christmas song you reply with” Regular version or trap remix?”

  12. You practically have the Hallmark and ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas memorized.

  13. You drink out of Christmas mugs… all year long.

  14. You find maps online of where to go see the best Christmas lights in the state of Georgia. Yes, my comrades, they exist.

  15. Your favorite playlist is your Christmas playlist.

  16. You have a wide collection of Christmas pajamas, ranging from mistletoe green to Santa’s cheeks red.

  17. It’s hard for you to fit all your ornaments on your tree. Who said you have to only have one tree, right?

  18. You can quote “The Night Before Christmas” by memory.

  19. Hearing “All I Want for Christmas Is You” 50,823,081 times a day and not getting tired of it.

  20. You can spit fire when it comes to the rap part of Justin Bieber’s “Little Drummer Boy”. (10/10 recommend.)

  21. You struggle to have room for everyday things on countertops and dressers because of the amount of Christmas decorations covering it.

  22. Why only have one Nativity scene in your household?

  23. You have the radio stations that mainly play Christmas music memorized, and ready to flip to another when a non-Christmas song comes on. How dare they?

  24. You shamelessly own a pair of elf shoes.

  25. You think glitter is a beautiful thing.

  26. And exactly where in the Bible does it say Santa Claus is a figment of imagination? Nowhere. You heard it here, folks.

All jokes aside guys...Christmas really IS the most wonderful time of the year, and is a great time to celebrate. Christmas spirit is in the air, Christmas songs are being sung, and folks are dressed up like eskimos, because Jack Frost’s nipping at your nose, everybody knows. But it’s so much more than that. It’s the birth of Jesus Christ. He gave His only Son for us. So why don’t we give back a little? Maybe participate in Operation Christmas Child? Volunteer at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen? Make some cards with some friends, and organize a group to go to a nursing home, hand them out, and visit with the sweet residents there. Some people, sadly, are just dropped off there and left by their family, so you could very possibly be the only ones visiting them during the holidays. Here’s a fun one I heard of once: Ding-dong-ditching. No, seriously ding-dong-ditching. Make little gift baskets with cards and cookies and other little treats. Then go to a house, leave it on their doorstep, ring the doorbell, and run for it. Imagine the surprise on the people’s faces when they see the basket on their steps! Something me and my cousins have done the past few years, is we make about 150 Christmas cards (always while watching “Jingle All the Way”, our favorite Christmas movie. You must watch it if you haven’t seen it.), and while we are all together at my Grandmother’s house, we walk and deliver them to everyone in her neighborhood. It’s fun and a great way to spread a little Christmas cheer! Pick one of these, or something else this holiday season, and give back a little, even something as small as putting in some coins in the bucket of that bell-ringer at your local grocery store. Go spread that holiday cheer!
