It is that time of the year when you see ridiculous decorations, lights, busy shops, tons of packages, and other impeccable clues of this wonderful season. But the best part by FAR is the music. Music connects people like no other. Christmas music can be repetitive, yes, if I hear “All I Want for Christmas is You” every five minutes on the radio again this year I might scream. However, there are so many gems that I love at Christmas time. Since we are celebrating ten years I am going to list the statistically (not my personal opinion) ten most popular secular Christmas songs and then ten Christmas carols.

Top Christmas Songs:

1. “White Christmas” performed by Bing Crosby

2. “Jingle Bells” performed by Bing Crosby

3. “Last Christmas” performed by Wham!

4. “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” performed by Band Aid

5. “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” performed by Andy Willians

6. “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” performed by Michael Bublé

7. “Do You Hear What I Hear?” performed by Bing Crosby

8. “Silver Bells” performed by Bing Crosby

9. “All I Want for Christmas is You” performed by Mariah Carey

10. “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” performed by Bing Crosby

Top 10 Christmas Carols:

1. “O Holy Night” written by Placide Cappeau

2. “Silent Night” written by Joseph Mohr

3. “In the Bleak Midwinter” written by Christina Rossetti

4. “Hark! The Herald Angel Sings” written by Charles Wesley

5. “O Come All Ye Faithful” written by John Francis Wade

6. “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” Unknown

7. “O Little Town of Bethlehem” written by Rector Phillips Brooks

8. “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen” Unknown

9. “Joy to the World” written by Isaac Watts

10. “Away in a Manger” written by William J Kirkpatrick

Here are a few of my favorites that did not make the official cut:

- “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”

- “The Christmas Song”

- “Baby It's Cold Outside”

- “Mary Did You Know”

- “Winter Wonderland” ( the Penatonix version specifically)

Hopefully at least some of these songs excites you! If not, I do not know what is wrong with you! (watch the grinch please) Listen to all the songs and enjoy this season- the season of love and joy. Relax, spend time with your family, and celebrate Christmas!
