Between the weather, festivals, holidays, and family gatherings, Autumn is easily the best season of the year. But, just like you can’t have Halloween without candy, what would fall weather be without your favorite recipes? Exactly! A lot less fun! So, if you’re able to grab a spare minute in between midterms or have a love for baking in general, then here are some fall recipes you must try before the season ends!

For those who are pressed for time (so basically all of us)

Dole Pineapple Wassail: A sweet drink for those coldest fall days

Prep Time: 5 min  Cook: 20 min

4 cups of apple cider

1 cup apricot nectar

4 cups of DOLE Pineapple Juice

¼ cup of honey

1 cup of orange juice

2 cinnamon sticks

1 teaspoon of whole cloves

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a large stock pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain cinnamon and cloves. Enjoy!

Chex Mix: A yummy snack for your family or a party

Prep Time: 10-15 min Cook: 1 hr

6 tablespoons of butter

3 cups of Corn Chex cereal

2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce

3 cups of Rice Chex cereal

¾ teaspoons of seasoned salt

1 cups of Wheat Chex cereal

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 cup of mixed nuts (optional)

½ teaspoon of onion powder

2 cups of cheerios

3 cups of pretzels (or 4 if you so choose)

Directions: Heat oven to 250 F. Melt butter and stir in seasonings, then pour over the dry ingredients ( Chex cereal, pretzels, cheerios, and nuts). Bake for 1 hr, stirring every 15 minutes. Enjoy!

Hawaiian Beef Sliders: Perfect football food

Prep Time: 10-15 min Cook: 10-15 min

2 lbs of cooked ground beef

1 package of Ranch Dressing Dip

1 ½ cup of sharp cheddar cheese, grated

½ cup of mayo

2 packages of Hawaiian Rolls

Directions: Heat the oven to 350F. Mix the ranch dip and mayo first, making sure there are no clumps of dip left. Add the cheddar cheese to that mixture, then add the ground beef. Toast the rolls for 5-8 minutes (just till they are a bit toasted, but not brown). Then, place the meat mixture onto the rolls and cook for another 4-5 minutes. Enjoy!

Chicken Buffalo Dip: A great meal or snack (Warning: a little bit spicy)

Prep Time: 10 min Cook: 3 hours

3 cups of cooked, chopped chicken

1 cup of ranch dressing

6 ounces of cream cheese (room temperature)

1 ½ cups of sharp cheddar

⅓ cup of hot sauce (it’s best with Frank’s Redhot Original, Cayenne Pepper Sauce)

Directions: Take out cream cheese for it to soften. Chop chicken before mixing with the rest of the ingredients. Place all the ingredients in a large pot and let sit on low till mixture and flavors are blended or use a crockpot and keep on low for three hours. On high, it would be about 1 ½ hrs but stir often. Enjoy!

Grandma’s Apple Dumplings: A cold night’s best friends

Prep Time: 15 min Cook: 30 min

2 granny smith apples- peeled, quartered, and cored

1 (8 ounce) can of refrigerated crescent rolls

⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ cup of butter

¾ cup of white sugar

1 cup of orange juice

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions: Heat oven to 350F. Wrap an apple piece in one crescent roll and place seam side down in an 8x8 baking dish and sprinkle with cinnamon. Repeat for each. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and orange juice; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over rolls. Bake for 30 minutes or until pastry is golden and apples are tender. Enjoy!

Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookies: {Will change your view of cookies}

Prep Time: 20 min Cook: 9-11 minutes

2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Chips (contains milk) 1 cup butter or margarine, softened 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed 2 large eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 1/4 cups unsifted flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)

Directions: Heat oven to 375ºF. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy and lightened in color. Add eggs and vanilla, one at a time. Mix on low speed until incorporated. Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. (Pro tip: the more cookies you bake, the hotter the pan gets, so the first batch might be 9-11 minutes but the other pans might be done by 8 minutes, so check them continuously) Enjoy!

These recipes are family recipes which have been used and loved for many years within my household. I hope that they give you a few ideas for your own fall season! Some are savory, others are sweet, but all of them are quick, easy, and yummy for any cold day or night. If you do attempt one of the recipes, please leave a comment or response as to your opinion on the recipe!
