9/6/18

September is here. Sports fans, you know what that means...college football is back. Whether you are a die-hard Georgia fan, a passionate Alabama or an Auburn fan, a fan of anyone in the ACC, or even one of those few, brave Florida fans, football season is an amazing time of year. September 1st saw countless blowouts, amazing plays, and even a few major upsets. These upsets came in the form of #13 Penn State almost losing in overtime, to unranked Appalachian State. We also saw a huge upset when Texas lost to Maryland. Of course, I couldn’t live in Georgia and not talk about the University of Georgia. I really don’t want to do this because “It’s great to be a Florida Gator!” but I know someone will be mad if I don’t. The Bulldogs (that’s right, you spell it “dog” not “dawg”) played a tiny school most people had never heard of before, Austin Peay State University. The Dogs (again, “D-O-G” not “D-A-W-G”) destroyed Austin Peay with a final score of 45-0. Finally, I want to talk about the Florida Gators. They played Charleston Southern University and won with a final score of 53-6. Yeah, that’s about it, the Gators are bad. #JealousFloridaFan. Overall, the first week of college football was very exciting, and the rest of the season promises to be very fun.

10/4/18 SEASON UPDATE

Since the season started, many teams have shown their superiority by pulling into the top 10. As usual, Alabama is #1, followed closely by Georgia (sadly) at #2, and Ohio State at #3. Other than the usual suspects, there are a few surprises in the top 15. A few of those are Kentucky at #13, Stanford at #14, West Virginia at #9, and LSU at #5. So far, this has been the SEC’s year. There are 4 SEC teams in the top 10 and 6 in the top 25. As the season goes on, I think we can all see a good season coming for ‘Bama and for UGA.
