Winter Olympics

It’s the time where all of the athletes are heading off to PyeongChang for the 2018 Winter Olympics where there will be more than 48 European countries and 91 countries and nations all together. The Olympic Games start every year with an opening ceremony where there will be the Parade of Nations where all the athletes march with their teammates. Speeches will be made by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and the OOC ( Olympic Organizing Committee). The Famous Olympic Flame will be lit and will stay lit until the Closing Ceremony. There will be the raising of the Olympic flag with the 5 colorful rings and a symbolic release of doves will signal a country’s victory.

Famous USA athletes going that we all know and adore. Shaun White

(snowboarding), Lindsey Vonn (alpine skiing) , Mikaela Shiffrin ( alpine skiing), Maame

Biney (speedskating), Chloe Kim (snowboarding) Brian Gionta (Men’s Ice Hockey), and

lastly Ted Ligety for alpine skiing. Many more will be there and they will all do us

proud and try to bring home the gold medals to their home country. Ecuador, Eritrea,

Kosovo, Malaysia, Nigeria and Singapore will all be making their debut in the 2018 Winter

Olympics. For the first time Jamaica’s women’s bobsledding team.

Along with bobsledding, there will be cross-country, skiing, curling, figure skating, ice hockey, ski jumping and snowboarding, plus many others that you don’t want to miss.
