On September 4, 2017, Georgia Tech played Tennessee at 8 in the Mercedes- Benz stadium as a part of the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.

You walk up to the entrance gate and see all the orange and a few yellow with blue jersey’s. As you look at your ticket and try to find your seat, you find yourself looking up at all the great architecture. You try to capture it all and see people yelling "$5 dollar chicken sandwich!" Finally, you find your seat entrance and as you walk in, your mouth drops. The roof is amazing and the field with its freshly painted lines is gorgeous. The crowds of people move you along as you marvel at the energy of the fans. The jumbo tron has a countdown until kickoff. With an hour till kickoff, you decide to get a drink and look at the wall filled with pictures of past and present Georgian NFL players. The game is about to start and you see something floating out of the corner of your eye. It's a floating balloon in the shape of a T for Tennessee. The countdown on the jumbo tron is getting closer to zero. The game is about to start.

The teams are warming up on the field, throwing drills, punters are practicing kicking, and the quarterback is throwing passes. Both defense and offense are practicing the plays while studying the other team. It's 18 minutes till kickoff and adrenaline is already pumping through your veins. The Tennessee Marching Band comes and plays their song and the Georgia Tech band does the same. The stands erupt with noise as the teams run out of their locker rooms.

The Yellow Jackets get the ball first and they kick it down the field. Tennessee gets the ball and runs down the field. Georgia Tech scores a touchdown, and the score is 7-0 in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Georgia Tech's John Kelly scores another touchdown, but Tennessee's Kirvonte Benson gets a touchdown, making the score 14-7 at the end of the second quarter. It's half-time, and the bands come out and perform. The teams stretch again and start the third quarter. Georgia Tech scores another touchdown, and Tennessee fans are not so happy. Georgia Tech is going crazy and they think they have it in the bag, but Tennessee comes and scores another touchdown. The score is 21-14 at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter is where everything goes down or up for the Tennessee Volunteers. Georgia Tech's TaQuon Marshall scores another touchdown, but Tennessee scores two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. This means that the score is 28-28 and the game goes into overtime. The Yellow Jackets get the ball and they score, but then Tennessee scores too! Again, another over time. Tennessee starts with the ball this time and scores, but Georgia Tech gets the ball and they attempt to do a 2-point conversion. Tennessee's Paul Bane blocks the throw. The fans go crazy because the Tennessee Volunteers won the game: 42-41 in double overtime. This a game for the books. Whoever went, they went for the game of a lifetime.
